Thermocouple

A thermocouple is a temperature sensing device consisting of two dissimilar metal wires joined at one end to form a measuring junction. It operates on the Seebeck effect, generating a small voltage proportional to the temperature difference between the measuring and reference junctions. Thermocouples are widely used in industrial process control, furnaces, engines, and HVAC systems due to their wide temperature range, durability, and fast response. Common technical features include types such as K, J, T, and S, operating ranges from –200 °C to over 1200 °C (depending on type), rugged construction, and compatibility with temperature controllers and instrumentation systems.
