DOL/FASD Starter
A DOL (Direct-On-Line) / FASD (Fully Automatic Star-Delta) starter is a motor starting and protection system used to safely start and control three-phase induction motors. A DOL starter directly connects the motor to the supply, providing high starting torque, while a FASD starter initially starts the motor in star connection and automatically switches to delta to reduce starting current. Typical technical features include contactors, thermal overload relays, timers, short-circuit protection, suitable enclosure, and ratings matched to motor power, making them widely used in industrial motor control applications.
