Earth/Insulation Tester
An earth/insulation tester is a diagnostic electrical instrument used to measure earth (ground) resistance and the insulation resistance of cables, motors, transformers, and electrical installations to ensure safety and compliance with standards. In industrial and domestic systems, it helps detect poor grounding and insulation faults that can lead to leakage currents, equipment damage, or hazards. Common specifications include test voltages for insulation measurement (typically 250 V, 500 V, 1 kV), insulation resistance range up to GΩ, earth resistance measurement down to milliohms/ohms, selectable test currents, and a digital display for clear readings.
